This medieval tunic is inspired by an 11th-century archaeological find discovered in 1984 in Viborg, Denmark. The original artifact, consisting of fabric fragments, was identified as part of a tunic, although some sections, such as the back and sleeves, were not fully preserved, leaving room for interpretation. The reconstructed tunic features a complex and detailed cut, rare for the time, faithfully respecting the original lines and construction methods.

Design Features:
This tunic, made from sturdy cotton, has a double layer on the upper chest, with diagonal seams originating from a central rectangle. The neckline includes two slits with ties to adjust the opening. The sleeves are constructed from three sections sewn together, tapering towards the cuffs. Side slits and a slightly longer back enhance mobility, making it suitable for horseback riding.

Historical Context:
The design of this tunic adheres to the tailoring techniques of the period, typical of Nordic and Viking clothing. The presence of advanced tailoring elements, such as underarm reinforcements and herringbone seams, makes it a sophisticated garment compared to other medieval tunics of the same era. Similar attire was worn by warriors and free men, often over other layers, as a symbol of status and for protection against the elements.
